    Major Samsung Pay 5.0 Update Now Rolling Out

    A few days back, Samsung announced the latest update for the Samsung Pay app. The main headline of the news is that in the latest version, Samsung has merged Samsung Pass services to the Samsung Pay app. Now, the latest 5.0.33 app version for Samsung Pay is released in the home country. Furthermore, Pay has received many new features like digital car keys, boarding passes, tickets, and a changed app interface.

    The main focus of the app update is its integration with Samsung Pass. Users can now access all the Pass services like Digital car keys, login information, and blockchain features from the Pay app. With the Digital Car keys, users can control their supported cars.

    It also becomes easy for users to book tickets from the app. Users can purchase movies, concert halls, stadiums, transport, and many more tickets. It is also easy to get boarding passes right from your smartphone with just a few taps.

    The change has also come to a screen configuration with easy navigation. Samsung has renewed all the menus and settings on the main screen and set up neatly, so anyone can easily access them. It has changed card placement with a beautiful stacking form.

    Finally, Samsung has improved the overall app for better services and more security. Samsung Pay app is slowly and sequentially rolling out for end users. It will take some time to reach your country. The company said till 19 June, the update will reach every user.

    Samsung Pass & Digital Car Key Merged with Samsung Pay

    Samsung has today announced to integrate its Samsung Pass into Samsung Pay. Now users can only access Samsung Pass from the Samsung Pay app. It will not hurt any existing features, and users can use them via the Pay app. The integration will take effect from the Samsung Pay app version 5.0 that you can install from Galaxy Store. The users who don’t use the Samsung Pay app, can for now use a separate Samsung Pass app.

    After the integration, all the Samsung services like digital passes, cards, and smart locks will be accessible from Samsung Pay. The app will be supported for Android 9 or above version. We are not sure if it is called Samsung Wallet, or if there is another separate app for it. All the cards are stored here, but the company didn’t call it the Wallet app.

    In Mexico, Samsung has separately launched Members Wallet app with all the services. Also with Samsung Pay, now users can send and receive money from the Blockchain app. Digital Key support has come to merge apps, and users can control their cars. Users can lock, unlock, open the trunk, find the car, start the engine, and open the sunroof.

    The app will let you store movie tickets and travel tickets in your home country. It has listed supported companies to use these tickets with. The VP of Digital Life Team, MX Division Samsung, Jini Han says it is the biggest update for Samsung Pay. It will beneficial for all the users in everyday life.

    For some time, the company will keep supporting the separate Pass app, but soon it will end the support. It is the same with the Samsung Pay app. If the users don’t want to merge both apps, then they should avoid the latest update. Even question arises if don’t want to go with a new version, how many times you can skip the latest updates.

    No one likes ads on their premium phones, especially from a company like Samsung. Like Xiaomi & Oppo, in the past, Samsung also started to show ads in its pre-installed apps. This August, Samsung has promised to remove advertisements from its default apps. Later, it has removed ads from the weather app, and now to continue its promise, it stopped showing ads in Samsung Pay & Samsung Health apps. The company has officially announced it, and now users in South Korea can experience these two apps without ads.

    Both of the default apps become messy due to overloaded ads, and its other example is the Weather app. In these apps, Samsung was showing ads at the top, middle, and bottom of the main screen. After heavy criticism from users as well as from tech experts, Samsung decided to remove ads. After all, users have paid over $1,999 to buy a device to get ad-free & uninterrupted services.

    Samsung Pay Shuts Down in Mexico, Welcomes Members Wallet

    Samsung has finally discontinued its well-known Samsung Pay service in Mexico. The users were getting shut down messages since March this year. And now the company has killed its online payment service in the country. After August 1st, the users in Mexico can’t use the service to make transactions using the NFC function. It is not clear why Samsung took this decision nor did we find any proper notes on the official website. Like other countries, Samsung Pay has a good amount of users in the country.

    Here is the official statement from Samsung about the termination of Samsung Pay in Mexico.

    Dear users at Samsung, we thank you for your preference and use of Samsung Pay. We want to inform you that due to various circumstances we find it necessary to terminate the service and its functionalities as of August 1, 2021. The service will remain active and you will be able to continue making payments or registering cards from affiliated banks until 12:59 PM on July 31, 2021. The application will be automatically deleted from your registered devices in accordance with a privacy notice and the terms and conditions of service published at Samsung.com/mx/samsungpay.

    Samsung Pay Shut Down Mexico

    It means not the end for Samsung to bring these services to Mexico. In the new partnership, Samsung has launched a new Members Wallet app in Galaxy Store. The service will allow users to make payments and get Samsung Debit Cards. It has a partnership with Santander bank & Mastercard in the country to provide Debit cards to make secure payments. The Members Wallet app is now in Beta mode, and users can send a request to join it. Once users get accepted, then they will get digital Samsung Debit card to make transactions.

    To promote Members Wallet, Samsung is offering 30% off on Samsung Care+ & a 5% permanent discount on the Samsung Experience store and Samsung Mexico website. It will also give early access to the users to purchase products throughout the year. You can download the official Members Wallet Beta app from Galaxy Store in Mexico.
