Samsung Team Again Uses iPhone Image for Promotion

In the past, some Samsung employees have used iPhone models to promote Samsung devices, and it created major debates on the internet. Samsung team member has done it again to promote their services. In South Korea, the Community Manager at the Samsung Members app has posted a banner that created controversy. To promote a Samsung service, the official member has used an iPhone image.

Today, the company was promoting its services for Samsung themes. The banner was placed on the main screen of the official Members app, so everyone should see it. Everything was perfect until some users noticed the iPhone image on the Samsung banner.

Looking at the shared image, I can confirm it is iPhone X or iPhone 11 series model. Now, many users are asking a question to Samsung employees are they really like Samsung phones. Further, some users say if official members can’t go with their own smartphones, then how they can convince us to buy their products.

    Samsung Members Banner Image

It could be a mistake from a Samsung member or he really doesn’t know which picture he is sharing. Whatever the reason, it gives Apple users one more chance to mock Samsung users.

We all know the rivalry between Samsung fans and Apple fans. Both users love their smartphones, and many times, it creates debates. What do you think, it is the member’s mistake, or he really doesn’t like the Samsung phone?

  • Software Updates Won’t Solve Some Galaxy S20 Ultra Camera Issues

Software Updates Won’t Solve Some Galaxy S20 Ultra Camera Issues

Since the launching of Galaxy S20 Ultra, the smartphone is facing some issues with the camera performance. In the beginning, it had severe autofocus issues, which was later fixed by a software update. If I am not wrong, then all the firmware updates released by Samsung were to fix camera related problems. Samsung is releasing new firmware every month, but it looks like there are still performance issues with the camera. Now some users are facing short distance focus, which captures blurry images when users try to take pictures closer than 10cm.

Samsung’s Galaxy S20, S20+ & Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones have the industry’s one of the best camera sensors, but still few issues should be solved. When many customers in South Korea asked for a new software update to fix the short distance focus issue, then Camera Moderator & and later Camera Manager answered that the lens of S20 Ultra is designed to take images of objects longer than 10cm. When you take pictures closer than that, then the background may be blurred. Here is the translation of Camera Moderator:

    Galaxy S20 Ultra Update

“First of all, we are sorry for the confusion about the use. The S20 Ultra model is equipped with a high-pixel image sensor, which increases the size of the sensor, resulting in a shallow depth of field and a longer focal length of 10cm or more compared to previous Samsung models. Therefore, when shooting a close object, the background may be blurred, or out of focus may occur. The focal length is determined by the lens specifications, making it difficult to correct with software. We apologize for not being able to fully explain the focal length in advance. Thank you.”

Many users are really unhappy with this. In everyday usage, users have to take pictures of closer objects like ID cards, documents, or other files. When reviewers spotted an issue with the camera autofocus function of S20 Ultra, then Samsung promised to enhance the camera performance by releasing new firmware. Still, now it looks like some issues are will not be fixed by software updates.

  • Samsung to Launch Galaxy Fold on September 6th in IFA

Samsung to Launch Galaxy Fold on September 6th in IFA

Samsung is going to re-launch its first foldable smartphone, Galaxy Fold on September 6th in the special IFA event. The news is coming from South Korean media that claims Samsung has decided to unpack the repaired model of Galaxy Fold as early as possible. The IFA event will start on the same date in Berlin, Germany, and Samsung will not get any bigger stage than this to show its most expensive phone to the audience. The report says three major telecom operators in the country were in the talk with Samsung and come up with the final launch date.

South Korea will be the first country to get Galaxy Fold and later the US and other major countries. In South Korea, the Fold will be on sale for 2.4 million won ($1890) and will be in the limited sale. Many experts data claims the sales numbers will be low compared to previous numbers so, in the first phase, Samsung will dispatch limited quantities (20,000 to 30,000) of Galaxy Fold in the market.

    Samsung Galaxy Fold

The last report suggested September 18th as the release date but looks like Samsung wants to show Galaxy Fold early. April 26 was the original date for the first foldable phone but due to issues in the hardware, Samsung postponed the launch date. Later, Best Buy & AT&T canceled all the pre-orders for the product due to the missing launch schedule.

The device launch date was in the mystery box for the previous few months. Now we have another date. Samsung officially yet to come up with an official launch date. If the foreign media is correct then in the coming days we would hear more from the company.

Smartwatch Market Grows, Apple & Samsung Leads

The smartwatch sector is constantly growing with setting new records every year. The latest report from Strategy Analytics mentions the trend and reports that 12.3 million smartwatches were shipped in the second quarter of 2019. As compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the current year recorded a 44% year on year growth rate. In the Q2 of 2018, all the companies cumulatively shipped 8.3 million smartwatches against the 12.3 million of the Q2 2019. The report reveals the growing potential of the wearables section and indicates the growth scale in the upcoming time.

The Apple Watch dominates the global shipments of the smartwatches and shipped 46% of the 12.3 million. It is obvious that last year’s Apple Watch Series 4 is the biggest factor in increasing shipments of the company and to bring it to the top position.

Further, Samsung also recorded a significant improvement in the smartwatch segment. The company doubled its shipments compared in the same period of 2018. Korean tech giant’s Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active helped the company to beat the Fitbit and grab the second position. In September, Galaxy Watch Active 2 with Under Armour edition will be launching in the market that may help the company to do even better.

    Samsung smartwatches

    Samsung’s smartwatch market growing

Samsung records the 15.9% market share against the 9.8% of Fitbit and occupy the second position. This trend indicates improving sales of the company and it’s holding over the smartwatch market. However, the latest Galaxy Watch Active 2 may enable the company to solidify its position and compete against Apple to capture the market.

According to the report of Strategy Analytics, currently, Samsung is the world’s second-leading smartwatch vendor as well as can further improve its fortune with the latest products packed with several impressive features.

Also, the report mentions the gloomy picture for the Fitbit, as the company saw a drop in its market share. This year the company managed to sell 9.8% of the global shipments against 15.8% of the previous year. Fitbit lost the second position due to less than the expected sale of the company’s Versa Lite Edition smartwatch.

However, with Fitbit Versa 2, the company can expect to improve its sell and solidify the market. The latest report gives a clear picture of the performance of the manufacturers as well as the trend in the smartwatch market space.

  • Galaxy Fold Will Launch in September

Galaxy Fold Will Launch in September

Samsung expects the launch of its foldable flagship, Galaxy Fold in September. Originally the device was scheduled to launch on 26th April, but the screen breaking issues compelled the company to postpone its release. After that company focused on comprehensive improvement of the Galaxy Fold and improve the overall user experience. Due to this unexpected delay Best Buy and AT&T canceled all the pre-orders and refunded the money to customers.

The September launch of the Galaxy Fold can lead to the competition with Huawei Mate X as it is also expected to launch in the same month.

Company has made extensive evaluation and all the required improvements to the product in meantime. However, if launched as scheduled earlier, the Galaxy Fold would be the first foldable smartphone by major manufacturers.

The issue of screen cracking was occurred due to peeling off the layer of plastic film on the phone’s internal display by reviewers. This happened because reviewers failed to understand the warning of not to peel off the layer and this lead to the crack in the display.

Galaxy FoldIn other cases bulge occurred on the internal screen of the device because some debris entered the phone’s top hinge. Now Samsung has solved all these issues and improved the device with an extended protective layer to cover bezels.

In order to prevent the debris from entering the device, protection caps have added on top as well the bottom side of the hinge. Also, the metal layers below the Infinity Flex Display have been included to reinforce the protection of the display.

Further, the company has reduced the space between the body and the hinge of the device. Samsung is also working to optimize the more apps for the Galaxy Fold’s User Interface.

As the company expects the launching of the Galaxy Fold in select markets in September, the more details will available close to the launching date. Customers have to wait until September to get this amazing and improved foldable smartphone.
