Gear S3, Galaxy Watch & Watch 3 Receives New Updates
The six-year-old Samsung Gear S3, four-year-old Galaxy Watch and two-year-old Galaxy Watch 3 are now receiving new firmware updates. In the last couple of weeks, Samsung is releasing new firmware updates to its older devices. Now after Galaxy phones, the Gear & Galaxy Watches are getting it. After more than two years, Samsung has updated its Gear S3 smartwatch which has launched in 2016.
The changelog mentions that the company has fixed the GPS issue on Gear S3. Along with Gear S3, the popular first-gen Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch 3 are having the same changelog that fixes GPS issues.
The original Galaxy Watch had launched in 2018 and Galaxy Watch 3 is from 2020. For a long time, there weren’t any updates for these models. Especially, the Gear S3 had its last firmware in May 2020, when Samsung brought some Galaxy Watch Active 2 features to Gear S3 & Gear Sport.
Galaxy Watch also received its last massive update in early 2021, when it got some Watch 3 features. Galaxy Watch 3, on the other hand, gets a new version with some minor fixes, but it still waiting for a major update with newly added features.
The firmware version R800XXU1GVG1 is available for Galaxy Watch, and the firmware version R845FXXU1EVG1 is for Galaxy Watch 3. There is no information about the Gear S3 firmware version, but thanks to a Reddit user who shared the information.

New Gear S3 & Gear Sport Updates Improve Wi-Fi
Samsung is now releasing new software updates for its nearly five-year-old & four-year-old smartwatches. The Gear S3 & Gear Sport are now receiving improvement updates to enhance the user experience of these old watches. Last year too, Samsung has pushed a little update for the Gear S2 smartwatch. Now again, the company has proved how it cares about its older models. New versions haven’t included any new features, but provide stability to the Wi-Fi connectivity.
The firmware version R760XXU2FUD1 has rolled out for Gear S3, and the Gear Sport is getting firmware number R600XXU2FUD1. The changelog doesn’t reveal anything but Wi-Fi stability. Though you can install the new version, and look if you find any changes. The major updates for these two watches were dispatched in May 2020. In the previous version, Samsung had seeded Always-on Display, Bixby function, new watch faces, and Samsung Health improvements.
The new software versions for Gear S3 & Gear Sport have released in South Korea. Head to the Galaxy Wearable app to install it. These are not only smartwatches that have received Samsung updates. This morning, the company has released new updates for Galaxy Watch Active & Active 2. The Galaxy & Galaxy Watch 3 have also gained new versions last week. It means, in this month, Samsung has covered all its watches by launching new firmware.

Gear S3 & Gear Sport Bixby Update Now Available Widely
Samsung started dispatching the latest Tizen version for Gear S3 & Gear Sport smartwatches in more countries. Two weeks ago, when Samsung released this firmware, then initially it was distributed in the US & South Korea. Now this major firmware update is rolling out in other countries and after the confirmation it is now rolling out in UK, Italy, Norway, Argentina & Tanzania. The new firmware will bring Bixby assistant to both watches by replacing the previous S Voice series.
The S Voice is going to shut down on June 1st so the company discontinued it and brought more advanced voice assistant service, Bixby. Apart from that, Samsung has brought some Galaxy Watch Active 2 features to these older models. It includes more emoticons that offer diverse skin tones. The new watch faces will allow you to go back to the screen by just tapping on the main screen.
It has also improved the sleep mode detection feature. Also the Always-on display is enhanced while been charged & when the power saving mode is active. Further, Samsung Health app brings Lap time recording for running & cycling sessions. The new software is available for both Gear S3 & Gear Sport smartwatches. As we mentioned earlier it is available in the UK, Italy, Norway, Argentina & Tanzania and many countries will follow soon. Gear S3 & Gear Sport Now Receiving Active 2 Features
The older smartwatches from Samsung, Gear S3 & Gear Sport, are now receiving Galaxy Watch Active 2 features. The update has previously dispatched to Galaxy Watch & Watch Active. Gear S3 is the flagship watch of 2016 & Gear Sport is from 2017, and now in the latest updates, the company is making them more advanced. Samsung has now launched Bixby on both the devices as a voice assistant service. The company has already declared its previous S Voice service will no longer active from June 1st so that the Bixby will take place. With the new voice assistant, users can set a goal & start workout routines and tell the time difference between two cities.
Samsung has added various emoticons that can set different skin colors to the screen. The Progress Indicator will allow you to open the previous app. It is helpful when you are using an exercise record and leaves it to go to the other section; then, by just tapping on the Progress indicator, you can re-open the app. Samsung Health has received new Lap time recording for running & cycling sessions. Also, users can see daily activity information & automatic swim detection in Samsung Health. Along with it, the update has improved Power Saving Mode, Always-on Display, timer & stopwatch for enhanced results.
The arrangement of icons on the quick panel has now changed for more effortless customization. Overall, Samsung has improvised these older smartwatches by giving Active 2 features & improvements to the existing functions. The firmware version R76*XXU2FTD4 released for Gear S3 Classic & frontier and the version R600XXU1CTD3 is for Gear Sport. The update is currently rolling out in Samsung’s home country & the US. Soon it will hit the other regions in the stages.

It is effortless to get notifications from Facebook Notifications of posts or chats on Galaxy Watch by activating notifications of these apps on the watch. To enable the notifications and get the alerts from Facebook, go to the Settings, and select the Manage Notifications options.
After selecting the option of manage notifications, you will see the list of all apps which support the Galaxy Watch. Then go to the Facebook option on that list. Here press the ON button to enable the notification from this app.
Hereafter you will be able to receive all the notifications from the app, and your smartwatch will also alert you about future updates. To read the notifications on your screen, swipe the screen to the left.

Massive One UI Update Comes to Galaxy Watch, Gear S3 & Gear Sport
Samsung has just released its new One UI update to its older smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch, Gear S3 & Gear Sport are the lucky watches to get the One UI flavour. Galaxy watch Active was the first smartwatch to taste it since the its launching with latest Tizen 4.3 version. It is now rolling out in US & Canada and brings firmware version R800XXU1CSE1, R760XXU2ESE3 & R600XXU1CSE2 for Galaxy Watch, Gear S3 & Gear Sport respectively, counts 115MB in size. The new version comes with tons of new features to make them more advanced and to brings all the watches closer to new Galaxy Watch Active.

AT&T Releases Tizen 4.0 Update To Gear S3 Frontier & Classic
The AT&T users in US are now receiving new Tizen 4.0 update on Samsung Gear S3 Frontier & Classic smartwatches. Early of this month Verizon has already released this update to its customers and this week Samsung released it all across the world. The latest update will bring the Gear S3 models closer to the Galaxy Watch. The new firmware version is R765AUCU2DSA1/R765AATT2DSA1/R765AUCU2DSA1 and brings Tizen 4.0.0.2 version to the watch.
In the latest version notable features are the improved Samsung Health function, it now supports indoor activities and sleep tracking will keep watch on your health. The other main changes are two advanced modes – Thatre & Sleep. You will get all notifications in the specific time & place without any disturbance. For the busy person it is good to stay away from any distraction and this feature can help to do it.
In the new update Samsung has released WhatsApp related functions so you can get any WhatsApp messages on the main screen and can reply to them. WhatsApp notifications will now more clearer than ever and can seen from the watch so you don’t have to open your smartphone. Quick Panel will now displays 8 settings, icons or modes at the same time and customers can change it according to their preferences. With the new version MMS notifications can be seen in notification panel, previously it was limited to text & images, now it enhanced with MMS notifications support.
To get this update on your smartwatch you will receive notification or you can also check it manually. First open the Galaxy Wearable app on the smartphone, now select the Settings tab and go to the About Watch option. After that select Update Watch Software and tap Update Now button. Samsung Gear S3 Received Massive Tizen 4.0 Update
Samsung has introduced the latest software update to Gear S3 in order to keep the smartwatch in competition. This update brings the latest and most awaited Tizen 4.0 Operating System to the Samsung Gear S3. With the latest update users will get the host of new features and improvements in functionality of the smartwatch. The Tizen 4.0 was originally launched with Samsung Galaxy Watch back in August and it has released on third generation Gear S3 watch.
Recent update carries the firmware version of R760XXU2DSA1 and accommodates Tizen 4.0.0.2 with it. The update to Gear S3 brings many latest features to the users at their wrist. Samsung Health will perform more widely as compared to the previous version and has more workouts in the list. It also includes the improvements in sleep monitoring functions of the smartwatch.

Samsung Released New Software Update For Gear Sport
Samsung has released another software update for Gear Sport wearable. New update has several key improvements and some bugs fixes over the last ones. The previous update for new fitness wearable had rolled out in December as a stability for Tizen 3.0.0.1 firmware, now it carries it to 3.0.0.2 version. This month two of Samsung wearable has received new updates. The Samsung Gear S3 has improved its battery performance after getting revised Tizen 3.0 version. The earbud Gear IconX is now perfect headsets for fitness purpose after when it has received many key features. Before it, second generation Gear S2 was the lucky wearable to get lots of new features, same as new Gear Sport & Gear S3 devices.
For Gear Sport, this one is came with some additional features like added option to turn off motion recognition alarm & customizable pace target. The new firmware version is R600XA1ARC4 and it is 80MB in size. Samsung always send security updates for its all devices and this one is not different. There is improved device stability and performance to put it up to date and to fix software glitches which was causing slowness in Gear wearables. The list of all features are as below.
