  • WhatsApp Calling Now Support on Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 5

WhatsApp Calling Now Support on Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 5

In our last article, I explained how you can use WhatsApp Messenger on your Galaxy Watch 4 & Galaxy Watch 5 series smartwatches. One by one I have shown you how you can get WhatsApp messages, view them, and see inside images, stickers, and emojis. Further, I also covered how you can use different input methods to reply to incoming messages. There is one area that was missing on these smartwatches, and that is WhatsApp calling support. These watches support everything but not the WhatsApp calling function.

But not anymore. In the latest WhatsApp app 2.22.19.11 update, the Galaxy Watch 4 & Galaxy Watch 5 watch support video calling. What does that mean? It means you can now receive, answer or reject WhatsApp calls from your smartwatch.

Before the update, the users were unable to get WhatsApp calling on the Galaxy Watches. And now with the new WhatsApp update, you can get alerts and also answer calls.

So how can you get WhatsApp calls on your Galaxy Watch, I will explain here.

To get the WhatsApp calls on your smartwatch, first, you have to download the latest 2.22.19.11 or above WhatsApp Messenger app version. The update is rolling out slowly so you should wait for your turn.

Once you update the app, then open WhatsApp and choose the number to whom you want to call.

Now tap on the calling icon, and it will start ringing. If you are receiving the calls, then you can see the WhatsApp number below the WhatsApp logo on your watch. The WhatsApp logo will differentiate normal calls from WhatsApp calls.

    WhatsApp Calling on Galaxy Watch

Some users say they see the WhatsApp logo, and some say they see the logo. But the main thing is now you can receive and answer WhatsApp calls.

Finally, the most important thing, is you should keep your internet on your smartphone.

  • Galaxy Watch Plugin Updated to Fix Recent Runtime Errors

Galaxy Watch Plugin Updated to Fix Recent Runtime Errors

Samsung has released new app updates to encounter the issue with the Galaxy Wearable app and its plugins. In the recent app version, most of the users running these plugins were having trouble opening the app. The users were continuously getting runtime errors and the plugins were crashing. After huge complaints from the customers, the Galaxy Wearable Manager in South Korea made a word to release new fixed app versions.

As reported by SamMobile, Samsung has rolled out the update for Galaxy Watch Manager plugins. Till now, it has updated plugins for Galaxy Watch 4 series, Galaxy Watch 3 & Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatches.

The Galaxy Watch 4 is Wear OS 3-based watch, and the others are running on Tizen OS. All the smartwatches including the first Galaxy Watch Active have this issue, though the update for it may take some time.

    Galaxy Watch Plugin Updates

The app version 2.2.11.22071151 has been released for Galaxy Watch 4 Plugin and the version 2.2.09.22071141N for Galaxy Watch 3 Plugin. The Active 2 has received the 2.2.08.22071151 app version. SamMobile says Active 2 also received version 2.2.08.22071141N on the same day.

  • Google’s Contacts App now Supports Galaxy Watch 4

Google’s Contacts App now Supports Galaxy Watch 4

After Google Assistant, another Google app has come to Galaxy Watch 4 series. Google’s Contact app now supports Galaxy Watch 4 series in the latest update. The app is available for other Wear OS smartwatches, and now after a break, it finally comes for Samsung watches. With the Contacts app, users can easily take backup of their phone numbers and synchronize them across all their devices.

The latest version for Watch 4 doesn’t add much value. In this version, you can only download it to synchronize all your smartphone contacts to the smartwatch. If you have previously stored contacts in the Google cloud, then you can sync them to the Galaxy Watch 4. Yes, you can search any contacts using the search option.

Apart from that, for now, there is nothing to discuss. It won’t let you create a new contact, add email, categorize them, or label them. Maybe in the next few updates, Google will add new features to the app. It also does not let you delete or edit existing contacts from the watch.

On the smartphone version, it safely takes backup of all the contacts in your phone, tablets, and computer and stores them in Google account-linked cloud. It is not the only benefit of the Contacts app. You can also sort contacts as per your need and label them.

Google has already announced it will bring more apps and services to the Wear OS 3-based Samsung watches, and the Contact app is one of them. It makes sense that Samsung’s latest smartwatches contribute largely to the Wear OS platform. You can download the Contacts app from Play Store on your Galaxy Watch 4 or paired smartphone.

Messaging App KakaoTalk Launched for Wear OS including Galaxy Watch 4

The famous South Korean messaging app KakaoTalk has finally launched a dedicated app for Wear OS watches including Galaxy Watch 4. With the app on your smartwatch, you can chat with your friends and family by sending text messages, images, and emoticons to make rich conversations. It allows you to chat in groups, My Chatroom, or person. You will find plenty of stickers to reply to your current conversation mood. It is launched for Galaxy Watch 4 series, but the Wear OS devices can also use it with all the features. As per the report published by Money Today back in May, KakaoTalk refused to build a dedicated app for Tizen OS-based watches. It is the reason Samsung decided to join Wear OS, so it could grab more attention of the developers, says a report. So you can imagine how the KakaoTalk app is essential for Korean users. After WhatsApp’s privacy concerns, the KakaoTalk app also has gained some popularity among global users.

It is the most popular messaging app in South Korea with over 50 million active users. It is what WhatsApp is for the US & India, and WeChat for China.
