After Galaxy S22 series, Samsung is now releasing the latest One UI 5.0 version for its previous year’s flagship models. In the new report, the company has distributed a major Android 13 version for older devices. The last year’s Galaxy S21, S21+ & S21 Ultra, previous Galaxy S20, S20+ & S20 Ultra, and Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra phones have received new updates. It is the first time that Samsung has released major software versions for any Galaxy device.
In the early morning, Galaxy S21 received its new version, and now the remaining models are getting it in different regions. With this trend, we can assume other devices including mid-range devices will soon get the update.
The firmware version N98*BXXU5GVJE has been released for Note 20 series. The Galaxy S20 series gets the G98*FXXUFGVJE firmware number. And the Galaxy S21 series receives the G99*BXXU5DVJC firmware number.
In Android 13, users can notice speedy UI, improved animation, changed notifications, call backgrounds as per contacts, advanced Wi-Fi, secured files, seamless sharing, more settings to Samsung Keyboard, and lots of changes.
All these firmware updates are available to download in European countries. In no time, Samsung will open it for the remaining countries, and within two weeks, it will reach the US. You can visit the Settings – Software Update- Download and Install option on the phone to see the pending update.
Samsung is today seeding new software updates for Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra smartphones. The latest version brings extra security to the device from malicious apps. On May 18, Samsung announced to release of a solution to tackle the problem with app installation from unknown sources. After the installation, users have more control over the apps to decide whether to allow them or block them entirely. It adds new setting options in the Unknown Sources section on Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra.
Samsung has added the “Disallow All” function to the device, where users can entirely block malicious apps. When the user activates this function, then the smartphone will not respond to any suspicious apps from unknown sources. It will also show you a list of unidentified apps and let you control each app. The previous settings to install third-party apps will not go anywhere. If you trust the app, then you can also change the settings in the Unknown Sources section. By mistake, if you install a malicious app, then it will alert & warn you to take action.
Samsung says the new security solution will guard users against voice phishing. It will block the installation of apps with a verified history of use for voice phishing. The new app security update was first supposed to release for Galaxy S21 & Galaxy S22 series devices, but Note 20 comes first in line. The latest firmware version N98*NKSU1FVE9 has been released in South Korea. It is 1.2GB in size and carries a May security patch. The other Galaxy S21 & Galaxy S22 devices will soon receive this version.
On The Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20 & Galaxy S21 series smartphones, Samsung has introduced many new & advanced camera features. Along with a 100x moon shot, we can see plenty of useful camera functions to capture stunning images. Though for some users it is not enough and they always demand more features. The company too fulfills most of the user’s demands from time to time, and the new upcoming function is the best example of it. As per the official Camera Moderator at Samsung Community South Korea, Samsung will soon launch Pro Mode for Telephoto Lens.
In the answer to the query asked by Galaxy Note 20 user, the moderator confirmed to bring Pro Mode for Telephoto Lens in the coming updates. He/she further mentioned that the function is still in the review process and Samsung developers are working hard to make it live. Further, in the camera department, the Telephoto Lens feature is examining from various angles to make it perfect. You can below read the official statement from Samsung Camera Moderator at Samsung community South Korea.
The new function will release for flagship Galaxy devices in the coming months. The Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold & Galaxy Z Flip series smartphones could get the functions in the coming weeks as per their flagship status. It is unclear whether high-end Galaxy A series devices like Galaxy A52 & Galaxy A72 along with Galaxy S10 & Note 10 will get this function.
In the previous major updates, Samsung Galaxy S20 & Galaxy Note 20 had received One UI 3.1 firmware. The update had brought many Galaxy S21 camera functions along with other features to these old flagship devices. Though that version had missed some camera features that were exclusive to the new model. Now, Samsung is releasing a new update to bring more camera functions to the Galaxy S20 & Note 20. The software update has firmware version G98**XXU7DUC7 for the Galaxy S20 series, and version N98**XXU1DUC8 for the Note 20 series.
After this version, users can take portrait images in low-light conditions. The night mode or dark mode can be now used in the ultrawide camera. The night mode can be used in highly possible exposure. Want more options? Samsung has added three new effects in portrait mode. Those are backup, high-key mono & low-key mono options. These effects let you change the background colors to black, white, or to whatever color you want. You can also use an ultrawide camera in the camera’s Pro mode.
The one sad news also came to the users, and that is missing the Director’s View feature. Both devices have missed this function. The reason behind the lack of the Director’s view function is because of the limitations in the processor ISP (Image Signal Processor). The firmware is now rolling out in Germany that may soon come to your device.
Samsung is widely distributing the latest One UI 3.1 version to the more flagship devices. After the Galaxy S20 FE, the update is now ready to launch on Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 2 devices. All these devices have been scheduled to get the firmware today, and South Korea will be the first country to receive it. As we writing this article. Galaxy S20 family is now getting One UI 3.1 version with all the newly added features. It brings plenty of new functions, customizations to the existing ones, and stability to the device.
It brings the Object eraser function in the Single take, the touch autofocus, and autoexposure controller to capture the perfect image. The Muti Mic Recording features will allow users to record audios through their phone as well as from connected Bluetooth devices like Galaxy Buds Pro. The Gallary has also been updated to store all the saved images and other data in the sequence manner and make it easy for you. The new Eye comfort shield will take care of your eyes by adjusting color temperature throughout the day.
There are plenty of new features that you can read from the above screenshot for the Galaxy S20. The firmware version G98*FXXU6DUB5 is currently rolling out for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ & Galaxy S20 Ultra devices. It also comes with a February security patch and weighs 1253MB in size. Today, it will also come to Galaxy Note 20 & Galaxy Z Fold 2 devices. Stay tuned with us, and we will inform you about the upcoming releases.

Following the schedule, Samsung had started to release the One UI 3.0 Android 11 update for its smartphones. The company first started with the Galaxy S20 series, and now it is moving to the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G locked to AT&T’s network is already receiving the stable update. It has been seen on Twitter and Reddit by some users in the US. Though we aren’t sure if it will stay there for this week, or move global length soon like the North American carriers and other markets.
The new update carries version number N98xUSQU1CTL2 and it has a size of 2.5GB, so users should update over the Wi-Fi connection. Though some countries still have to wait for the update, if the company will stick to the roadmap.
In the One UI 3.0 update, the Note 20 & note 20 Ultra will get new features and a redesigned UI. The most talked one is the enhanced Quick Panel control that allows the user to easily switch between music, videos, and other tasks. The other flagships, Galaxy Z & Z Fold 2 have been scheduled in January, and the predecessor Galaxy Fold will be getting it in February. Hopefully the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will get the update by the end of the year globally or at the latest by January.

Samsung has released a second update for Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra in the current month. The first software of this month was only dispatched with the September security patch. This time, the update has brought some improvements to the new flagship devices. The firmware version N98*NKSU1ATI2 is now rolling out in South Korea and brings enhanced camera performance. The update has also enhanced the overall performance and security of the Note 20 series.
Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra launches with one of the most innovative cameras in the industry, however, the company always seeds new updates to improve camera quality. As the changelog mentions, you will get better camera usability, and some users say they have witnessed faster to focus while taking images. I don’t think, there was an issue with the camera and not any complaints about slowness. Still, it is better if Samsung has made it much faster compared to the last version.
After the launch of the Galaxy S20 series devices, Samsung is regularly updating the camera quality of the flagship devices. Now, Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra is getting the same treatment. Apart from that, the devices have upgraded to advanced security and provide system stability. You can manually check for this 424MB firmware, by visiting Settings – Download & install – Software Update. The update will soon available in the other regions.
We know in the coming weeks, Samsung will be releasing One UI 2.1 version for its flagship & some Galaxy A series of smartphones. The One UI 2.1 with Android 10 will bring all the goodies of exclusive functions of Galaxy S20 series to the older Galaxy S9/S10 & Galaxy Note 9/Note 10 smartphones. Now to move ahead, we have a piece of information about the next One UI 2.5 version & its first feature. It supposed to first release with the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 smartphone and after that, it would come to Galaxy S20, Galaxy S9/S10, Note 9/10 series and selected Galaxy A & M series smartphones.
We received this information from the HomeScreen Moderator at the Samsung Community of South Korea. These moderators are highly accurate about their posts so we can trust the news. The HomeScreen moderator not only revealed the One UI 2.5, but the person has also told us the first feature of the upcoming update. The first feature is that the Google gesture will be available for third-party launchers.
Here is the translated post from the Samsung Community,
Hello, I am in charge of the Home operation. Are you using 3rd party launcher? Currently, the new Google gesture is not available on other launchers, so the More button option button is disabled. When updating One UI 2.5, we are using Google gestures in the third-party launcher. Please note that the exact schedule for One UI 2.5 update for each model is not confirmed.
Android 10 has come up with a new gesture navigation method for third-party launchers. Till now, it is available on a few launchers like LawnChair on Google Pixel devices. Samsung has yet to implement these functions, and finally, we know when it will come to Galaxy smartphones. In the second half, Samsung will unpack Galaxy Note 20 series devices, and we think we will see One UI 2.5 with Android 10 for the first time. As time goes, more functions of this new version will come into the light.
