Galaxy Buds Update Tracker: New Updates for Galaxy Buds Pro & Buds 2
In this Samsung Galaxy Buds-related article, we always give you the latest information about new firmware updates. If it’s first-gen Galaxy Buds or new Galaxy Buds 2, we will cover all the earbuds. Update (August 24): The two major earbuds from Samsung are receiving new software updates today. After the launch of the Galaxy Buds Pro 2, it is the first time Samsung has dispatched new updates for its older watches. As per the changelog, these are the regular firmware to stabilize performance. The firmware number R190XXU0AVF1 is released in more countries for Buds Pro. The Buds 2 gets the firmware version R177XXU0AVF1 (Via) has been released. You can install the updates from the Galaxy Wearable app.
Update (July 04): The Galaxy Buds Pro has today received a new software update in South Korea. As per the changelog (see image below), it has applied stability to code to enhance its performance. The latest firmware version R190XXU0AVF1 has been rolled out for the earbuds with a 2.23MB file size. It will soon release in other countries for the Buds Pro. To check for the new firmware, head to the Galaxy Wearable app, and open Buds software update.
Update (June 27): Again nearly after a month, Samsung has deployed a regular check update for the Galaxy Buds 2. It has released June’s first firmware version for the new earbuds. The changelog only reads, ‘The terminal operation-related stabilization code has been applied. In such regular updates, Samsung never reveals which part the developers have fixed or improved, so you should find it yourself. The new firmware version R177XXU0AVF1 is available to download in South Korea via the Galaxy Wearable app. Here is the screenshot for the latest firmware version.
Update (May 30): A minor firmware version is heading for Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds. It is a tiny update that does not bring any new features or significant changes to the Samsung earbuds. It has been dispatched to stabilize the device and fix minor bugs & other issues. The changelog only mentions stabilization code has been applied, which means it is a regular monthly update. The firmware version R177XXU0AVE1 comes with a 3MB size and rolling out in South Korea.
Update (Dec 13): In the latest firmware version, Galaxy Buds 2 has gained a new call control option in Touch Control. The detect wearing earbuds during calls feature which has recently been introduced on Buds Pro, Buds+ Buds Live has also come to Buds 2. The firmware version R177XXUA0UL2 is now spreading in South Korea. To install the update, first, update Galaxy Buds 2 Plugin app to the 4.0.21112451 version.
Update (Dec 06): After a long period of time, Samsung has released new firmware for the Galaxy Buds Pro earbuds. In the home country, the earbuds received the R190XXU0AUK1 build number the file package is 2.23MB. In the new version, the company has added a new setting to detect wearing earbuds during calls. Further, Samsung has squashed minor bugs to provide more stability and improved performance.
The firmware version for Galaxy Buds Pro is currently releasing in South Korea, and soon you will receive it in your region. To check for the new version, go to the Galaxy Wearable app.

Samsung Pushed New Software Updates for Galaxy Watch 4 & Buds Pro
The new Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic & Galaxy Buds Pro are receiving new software updates from the company. These new wearables have already got the latest firmware last week, though Samsung has sent it again, The reason behind the new firmware is to improve the specific functions on these Galaxy wearables. On the Galaxy Watch 4 & Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, the piece of code will improve the touch bezel performance. The Galaxy Watch 4 comes with a digital bezel & the Classic one comes with a physical bezel.
On both firmware, it mentioned touch bezel improvement, so exactly don’t know which part the company has enhanced. I never heard any complaints from users about the touch bezel, but Samsung wants to push it to the next level. The Galaxy Buds Pro has received fixes and improvements to the call quality. After installation of new firmware, users will get better call quality and a reduction of noise during calls.

Galaxy Buds Pro Praised with Buds 2 Features
In the first Buds 2 update announcement, the Galaxy Buds Manager at Samsung Community was promised to bring its functions to the Buds Pro. Now, fulfilling the promise, the company is releasing a new firmware update for the previous model. The firmware version R190XXUA0UH5 has been rolled out for the earbuds with additional features. Along with it, Samsung has dispatched a new Galaxy Buds Pro Plugin app version. In the latest piece of code, users can use ambient sound during calls.
Further, the Buds Pro receives a new Noise Control option with two additional features. First, the earbuds let you control the noise of one specific bud rather than both. It is useful when you want to enable only one side of the earbud. Second, you can customize ambient sound listening from the noise control option. In this feature, the company has given control to the users to apply settings according to their needs.
Finally, Samsung has killed minor bugs to provide more stability & to enhance overall performance. There is no word yet about the software update for Buds Live with these features. To use the newly added features, Galaxy Buds Pro users must install the new Galaxy Buds Pro Plugin to the 3.0.21082751. The update is releasing in South Korea with a promise to come out in other countries.

Galaxy Buds Pro may Soon Get Noise Control Function
This week, Samsung has released a new feature called noise control function for the Galaxy Buds 2. The function contains two new features. First, the noise control function allows users to control the noise of just one earbud rather than both. The other features is to customize the listening to ambient sound. The users of Buds 2 can use it, when they get their hands on it. Previously, the option wasn’t there in the Galaxy Wearable app, and now the company has introduced it with the new buds. Now, as per the Buds Manager of Samsung at South Korea, the function will also come to the Galaxy Buds Pro soon.
Actually, it was the Buds Pro users who first demanded the function, but Samsung launched it with Buds 2. The Buds Manager said they had received various requests to launch the noise control function. It means after Galaxy Buds 2, the Buds Pro users can also use this function. Further, the Samsung manager mentioned the new feature is under review, and he will notify when it completes. Doble-tap edge of the earbuds is also the function which came later on Buds Pro from Buds+ earbuds.
With the Galaxy Buds 2, the company has also introduced activate hearing ambient sound during calls. There is no mentioning of the feature for the Galaxy Buds Pro. In the next firmware version, we will get a clear idea about which feature will come to the Buds Pro.

Galaxy Buds 2 Receives New Features in First Update
The Galaxy Buds 2 is Samsung’s latest earbuds with advanced features but in the budget price segment. The company launched it along with other flagship Galaxy smartphones and watches. Without any delay, Samsung put it on sale, and now, it is available in the major countries. Now, Samsung took one step further and released the first major update for the new Galaxy Buds 2. The latest firmware will bring some of the essential functions for the earbuds, which were missed while launching. After the installation, the users can now activate Ambient Sound during calls.
In the Active Noise Cancelling function, Samsung has added two new options. Users can control the noise of only one earbud instead of both. New Galaxy Buds Pro Update Brings Back Useful Function
Samsung is now releasing a new software update for its Galaxy Buds Pro earbuds. The latest firmware has brought an essential function on the earbuds, which is present on the previous Galaxy Buds. It has brought back the ‘Double Tap the Edge of the Earbuds’ function on the Buds Pro. This feature is available on the Galaxy Buds+, but Samsung removed it from the Buds Pro. It has been said that the shape of the new earbuds is different than the Buds+, which was difficult to operate. Though, now Samsung has brought it back to life.
This is different than the double-tap in the Touch Control section. This feature is available in the Lab section, where you can activate or deactivate it. When you enable it, then with the double tap on the edge you can increase or decrease the volume. To increase the volume double tap on the right bud, and to decrease the volume double tap on the left bud. Further, the firmware has improved the Active Noise Cancelling feature for better result. With the addition of touch & hold or long-press on the touch area, users can now toggle between ANC & Ambient.
Finally, the company has fixed minor issues to enhance the user experience. The latest software version is available in South Korea that soon will be released in other countries. Galaxy Buds+ Gets Auto Switch Function in the Latest Update
In the new firmware update, the year-old Galaxy Buds+ earbuds have received an auto-switching function. The function is first introduced on Galaxy Buds Pro, and last month it has launched on Galaxy Buds Live. Along with it, the Buds+ receives a Buds Control menu in the Bluetooth settings to make the controlling easy for users. The firmware version R175FXXU0AUB3 is currently rolling out in the US, India & South Korea for now.
The Auto-switch feature will allow you to automatically switch between your Galaxy devices like phone & tablet. For example when you are watching videos or streaming songs on one device and the other device receives a phone call then the earbuds will automatically connect to the phone call. It saves time to re-pairing your Galaxy Buds+ with the smartphone. At this moment it only supports Galaxy devices that run on One U1 3.1 software version.
In the market only flagship models are running on the One UI 3.1 version, so slowly more Galaxy devices will get this support. Galaxy Buds Live Receives Auto Switch & Hearing Aid Function
The latest Auto switching & hearing aid functions are now coming to the older Buds Live is the first one to get it. Both functions were first introduced on the new Galaxy Buds Pro. In the official news of the One UI 3.1 release, Samsung had promised to bring these features to Buds Live & Buds+ earbuds, and it has now started in the home country. With the Auto switch function, users can simply switch between different Galaxy devices.
It’s not all, your current playing audio will seamlessly switch to the newly connected Galaxy device. At this moment, it only supports Samsung Galaxy phones & tablets, and you have to update your phone to the One UI 3.1 version. Second Galaxy Buds Pro Update Improves ANC & Voice Detect
The second firmware update for the new Galaxy Buds Pro is here with improvements to the existing features. The active noise canceling feature that has become more advanced with the latest pair of buds has now improved in the version. The ANC function on the new earbuds is the most advanced and up to mark feature, though Samsung has decided to make it more superior. The Voice Detect which allows users to temporarily switch from ANC to Ambient mode is now more ready at its service.
The Voice Detect function is in active mode while using earbuds you are talking with another person. That time, it automatically dates ts when the users need to listen to other person or other objects, so it could switch it to Ambient mode. Again, when there is no talking for the next few seconds it will switch back to ANC. In the firmware, the Ambient sound itself gets extra treatment to enhance its capabilities.
