    Fenix 6 Series Received Beta 22.80 Update with Major Changes

    Garmin is trying to give its best to its all flagship smartwatches. Right after releasing the 9.24 beta version for the Fenix 7 series, the company has released a 22.80 beta update for Fenix 6 series. The firmware is not big as compared to Fenix 7 update, but it has noticeable changes. From the Alpha to Beta, Garmin has stabilized and optimized most of the major features. The HRV status has also received improvement to perform better on your wrist.

    In the new Training status widget, you can access the acute load graph, load focus, VO2 Max, and heat & altitude acclimation graph. Further, the main widget section now provides you with HRV, training status, and acute load data. Garmin has improved race time predictions and fixed many existing features on the Fenix 6 series.

    The detailed changelog has provided below:

    – Added a new Acute Load graph and Heat Acclimation graph, which can be accessed via the updated Training Status widget.

    – Improved race time predictions.

    – Fixed a potential issue where random text would be displayed on InReach messaging.

    – Fixed a potential issue where the Daily Floors Climbed Goal alert would not alert.

    – Fixed a potential issue where Battery Saver mode would randomly turn on after an activity or accessing a menu.

    – Fixed an issue when calibrating altitude via the DEM option where the prompt to enter sea level pressure was skipped.

    – Fixed an issue where RCT could disconnect while on the widget glance.

    – Fixed an issue on the Xero widget that would be unable to acquire GPS.

    – Fixed an intermittent issue where using a hotkey to open a timer from the Spotify app will return the user to an empty screen.

    – Fixed an intermittent issue where the device would not properly sync privacy settings with Garmin Connect Mobile.

    – Fixed a potential issue where the device would restart during an activity (non-Pro devices).

    – Fixed a potential issue where HRV status would not display after wearing the watch for 3 weeks.

    – Fixed a potential display issue with the Incident Detection alert when the watch is connected to Garmin Connect.

    – Fixed other minor HRV status UI issues.

    Like the Alpha version, you don’t need a computer to install the beta version. To download the 22.80 beta software update, go to the Garmin Connect app, and install it.

    Fenix 6 Series Gets Stable 21.80 Update with Major Fixes

    Garmin released software update 21.00 for Fenix 6 series smartwatches in May. It came with plenty of new features, but that didn’t go well for many users. After the installation, users were facing major issues like faster battery draining. Now to fix all those issues, Garmin has rolled out a stable 21.80 firmware update for Fenix 6 series watches. It has fixed all the issues that users complained about in the official forum.

    The software is released to tackle all the known issues, and you can see it in the official changelog. There is nothing new in the version but a bunch of fixes for the watches. As per changelog, the problem where “battery in Days” would report 0 in connect IQ report has been fixed.

    Here, Garmin tries to say users only see battery decline in Connect IQ graph, but in reality, there wasn’t an issue. The users say a different story about battery issues. In the end, it is good they have fixed it. You can share your battery usage if there is an improvement in this case.

    Fenix 6 Series 21.80 Update

    Here is the official changelog for Fenix 6 series watches.

    • Fixed an issue where Run/Walk/Idle total time didn’t equal Total Time displayed on watch/Garmin Connect (now all times when totaled should match Total Time).

    • Fixed an issue where a user could not delete a Strength workout from the device.

    • Fixed an issue with Metronome hotkey not working in the Walk activity.

    • Fixed issue in the Jumpmaster activity where the listed elevation data would not properly update.

    • Fixed an issue that could prevent the device from booting up properly.

    • Fixed a possible crash when completing Strength workouts that didn’t have any rep counting steps.

    • Fixed issue where “Battery in Days” would report 0 in Connect IQ apps.

    • Other minor improvements and bug fixes.

    The firmware update is available to download from the official Garmin forum. Initially, it is available to install on 10% of users. The remaining users will soon receive the update in the coming days.
