Samsung Will Shut Down SideSync App on October 15

Samsung has decided to shut down its SideSync app & the services from October 15. SideSync is a Samsung service that allows users to share their smartphone’s screen and data with pc or tablet. The app has 50+ millions of downloads in the Android Play Store. One of the reasons Samsung decided to disconnect the app because of its Samsung Flow app that replaces all the functions of SideSync. The Samsung Flow allows all the smartphone as well as Galaxy Watch users to connect with their other devices in a secure way. At this moment, Samsung has only 5+ millions of downloads in the Play Store but after the termination of SideSync, more users probably use it.
Last year, SideSync was removed from Galaxy S9 & Galaxy S9+ devices to give room for Samsung Flow that later received screen sharing update. Now all the users are receiving notifications to inform them the app will officially no longer available to use from October 15th. Here is the official statement from the SideSync team to all the downloaded users.

SideSync is no longer available as of [09:00 AM, 15, October 2019, GMT+9], according to a change in internal operation policy.
Though SideSync service is no longer running, you can continue to use the mirroring through Samsung Flow.

It has mentioned that the users can use Samsung Flow after the shut down of the app. Recently, Samsung has disconnected its shopping app Samsung Mall in India and now the company has decided to shut its another app from the store. Latest Galaxy A50 Update Improves Moisture Detection & Touch Screen
Samsung has pushed new software for the Galaxy A50 smartphone. The firmware version A505GNDXU3ASH4 is rolling out in the Philippines along with the August security patch that weighs 210.70 MB in size. The new version improves the moisture detection algorithm on the phone. The charger/USB port’s moisture detection algorithm has introduced to make sure the USB port or charger charges the phone battery without causes any problems. It was first introduced on Galaxy S7 device and recently Samsung rolled out moisture detection update on Galaxy A30 in its July update.
The other notable improvements are the improvements in the performance of the touch screen and the stability of Knox guard. In the recent update Samsung has taken care of Fingerprint sensor which now responds much faster. The new version is available to install in the Philippines and soon it will hit in the other countries. Samsung Canceled All Existing Galaxy Fold Pre-orders in the US, Giving $250 Credits
Samsung has canceled all the existing Galaxy Fold pre-orders in the US, and as a goodwill gesture, it is giving $250 credits to all customers. These are the customers who had pre-ordered Galaxy Fold in April and again later they have confirmed to wait for the re-release date when Samsung asked to confirm the mail till the end of May 31st. Today all the customers have received emails from the company clearly stated that the company has terminated all previous pre-orders and customers will no longer receive their Galaxy Fold. For that, they have to order it again when the company re-launch it in the US, which is September 27th.

Most of the customers would not be happy with this decision. It is good that they are getting $250 Samsung credit but customers want their product as they had been promised by the company. Now again they will have to stay in the line to get Galaxy Fold and due to limited stocks, many of them might not get one. There is a news the company will sale it in the retail stores instead of official website.

On September 6th Samsung will officially launch Galaxy Fold in South Korea and later France, Germany, Singapore, and the UK on September 18th. The US has September 27th official date for Galaxy Fold when customers can again purchase it. The customers who have received $250 Samsung credit, can use it to purchase any item on Samsung’s website or they can use it while paying to Galaxy Fold at the checkout when getting the product. Also, the customers who have paid for Galaxy Fold in the recent will receive their paid amount.

[Update: Out of Stock] KT Shop Announced Advance Booking for Galaxy Fold
Updated Sept. 5: As telecom operator promised, the pre-orders for Galaxy Fold started at 11 AM today, and after the opening, it went out of stock within few minutes. It shows there is huge demand for Galaxy Fold in the country. The other telecom operator, SKT has also run out of stock within a few minutes of its opening. Samsung has now officially announced it will release Galaxy Fold on September 6th in South Korea so tomorrow Digital Plaza & other carriers may start to take pre-orders for the device.

Galaxy Note 10 Series Update Improves Call & Earphone Quality, Fixed Lock Screen Issue
The first update for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 5G & Note 10+ 5G is now rolling out to improve call quality & earphone quality of the device. The new firmware version G971NKSU1ASH6 for Note 10 5G & G976NKSU1ASH6 for Note 10+ 5G is now releasing with the latest Google’s August security patch. The software is 116MB in size on Note 10 5G & 132MB in size on Note 10+ 5G model.
It also fixes the lock screen issue by resolving the top bar burn-in in Always on Display mode and improving after image phenomenon on the lock screen.
There is another firmware releasing in India with a size of only 4MB. The firmware version N97*FXXU1ASH5 available in India for both Galaxy Note 10 & Note 10+ smartphones. The new update will improve the call quality of the both Note series phablets. As per the changelog, the update will improves call stability and the overall quality of the device by fixing minor issues. But some users have mentioned they have seen improvements in the camera quality.
In the first update, Samsung has enhanced the overall quality of the Galaxy Note 10 & Note 10+ & the version ends with ASH5 has already dispatched in many countries. Samsung Galaxy Fold release date is becoming a more mystery with every news that comes with various re-launch date. Like the previous Korean Media news that mentioned September 6th is the date when Samsung would release its first foldable phone at the IFA event. Well, this time we have more reasons to believe this news, not exact the same date but it could happen in the next few coming days. We have a news that can make Galaxy Fold users happy before they get their hands on their Galaxy Fold. The pre-registration or Sign-up program for Galaxy Fold is now open for US & UK customers. Samsung to Launch Galaxy Fold on September 6th in IFA
Samsung is going to re-launch its first foldable smartphone, Galaxy Fold on September 6th in the special IFA event. The news is coming from South Korean media that claims Samsung has decided to unpack the repaired model of Galaxy Fold as early as possible. The IFA event will start on the same date in Berlin, Germany, and Samsung will not get any bigger stage than this to show its most expensive phone to the audience. The report says three major telecom operators in the country were in the talk with Samsung and come up with the final launch date.
South Korea will be the first country to get Galaxy Fold and later the US and other major countries. In South Korea, the Fold will be on sale for 2.4 million won ($1890) and will be in the limited sale. Many experts data claims the sales numbers will be low compared to previous numbers so, in the first phase, Samsung will dispatch limited quantities (20,000 to 30,000) of Galaxy Fold in the market.
The last report suggested September 18th as the release date but looks like Samsung wants to show Galaxy Fold early. April 26 was the original date for the first foldable phone but due to issues in the hardware, Samsung postponed the launch date. Later, Best Buy & AT&T canceled all the pre-orders for the product due to the missing launch schedule.
The device launch date was in the mystery box for the previous few months. Now we have another date. Samsung officially yet to come up with an official launch date. If the foreign media is correct then in the coming days we would hear more from the company.

T-Mobile Releases Android Pie for Samsung Galaxy J7
As the company promised Android Pie 9 version has almost reached every Samsung smartphone. Still, there are some users eagerly waiting for new software. T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy J7 2018 smartphone, which is known as Galaxy J7 Star is now getting Android Pie update. The new firmware version is J737TUVU5BSG2 and 1108MB in size. Along with the latest update, Google’s July security patch will be dispatched. T-Mobile is always late to ship the latest updates on its devices so the device may get August update in the next installment.
The Android Pie version brings lots of goodies with One UI interface to this 2018’s model. Galaxy Home Mini Beta Program Opens, Launch Imminent
Samsung Galaxy Home & Galaxy Home Mini speakers are taking more than usual time to release. In the last few months, we heard many leaks & information from various sources as well as from the official spokesperson. In the last statement, the Samsung spokesperson is taking the time to launch both home speakers for the quality reason. Galaxy A50 August Update Improves Battery Charging Algorithm, Added Snapchat
Samsung is now seeding the latest August security patch update on the Galaxy A50 smartphone. The new software is here to improve the overall quality of the device and the Snapchat app has been installed. The firmware A505FDDU2ASH3 is rolling out in India that weighs 320MB in size. The latest software improves the battery charging algorithm by providing stability as well as enhances the performance of the Fingerprint scanner. Galaxy S10 Series Gets Night Mode Update on T-Mobile
The unlocked Galaxy S10 models in the US are now getting August security patch on all carriers, except T-Mobile. The T-Mobile users in the US are now receiving a Night Mode update for their unlocked Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ & Galaxy S10e. The telecom operator is the last one that brings these features to Galaxy S10, S10+ & S10e smartphones. Samsung Witnessed 121% Smartwatch Growth in NA
The latest report from Canalys shares important data about the performance of the wearables market in North America(NA). It reports that in the second quarter of this year, 7.7 million units were shipped in the NA market. Compared to the 5.6 million units of the previous year, the current year witnessed a 38% rise in the smartwatch market. A glance at the report indicates that Apple Watch dominates the market with 2.9 million units sold out in this quarter.
Compared to the same time period of last year, Apple experienced a 32% improvement in its shipments. However, Apple saw a slight decline in its market share in the Continent, compared to Q2 last year.
Fitbit gains the second position in N. America’s wearable band market with a 24.1% market share. It sold out 1.9 million units in the quarter and experienced an 18% improvement in shipments year over year.
Samsung Sees 121% Smartwatch Growth
Samsung doubled its shipments and delivered 0.8 million units, compared to the 0.4 million units of Q2 last year. This drastic improvement in Samsung’s shipments is the result of its fitness focussed Galaxy Watch & Watch Active series smartwatches.
The South Korean company has a 10.6% share of the North American smartwatch market and occupies third place after Apple and Fitbit. Though the numbers are really strong. It witnessed 121% growth in the North American region, which is way more than any other players in the same continent.
Obviously, the new Samsung smartwatches gained Samsung a significant share in the market and soared its shipments to 121%. In this competitive wearable market, the company which fulfills the customer demand of smartwatches with health-related and other intelligent features in the affordable price range will obviously gain a significant market share.
According to the report, Garmin with a 7% market share placed at 4th position and Fossil Group with a market share of 4.1% has 5th place in the top five. The Canalys notes that smartwatch manufacturers target the price range of $200 to $299 in the Continent. It is clear from the data that 32% smartwatches shipped in the Q2 are from this price range against the 28% of $300 to $399.
Apple Watch offers the best combination of LTE connectivity and app ecosystem which is hard to beat by its rivals. Manufacturers are approaching customers through products with comprehensive features and wide connectivity as well as the best price tag. This is the driving force for the wearable market in the continent.

Oppo & Huawei Are Ready to Launch Next Smartwatches
The Huawei once was active in smartwatch business and had been grabbed the attention of many customers worldwide was quiet for some time on an issue with the US government. On the official Twitter account CEO of Oppo has revealed the company’s next move in wearable gadgets. He told future Oppo smartwatches & trackers will be seen in the second half of 2020. Smartwatch Market Grows, Apple & Samsung Leads
The smartwatch sector is constantly growing with setting new records every year. The latest report from Strategy Analytics mentions the trend and reports that 12.3 million smartwatches were shipped in the second quarter of 2019. As compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the current year recorded a 44% year on year growth rate. In the Q2 of 2018, all the companies cumulatively shipped 8.3 million smartwatches against the 12.3 million of the Q2 2019.
