Samsung Releases New Firmwares for Galaxy Watch 4 & 4 Classic
Samsung is now releasing the new firmware updates for the Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic smartwatches. It is the second update for these new Wear OS-powered watches. The first update was released before they get even launched in the market, so technically it is the first firmware after launch. The new update brings Samsung Health function in the settings. Samsung Health is an essential part of Samsung’s wearables. It is out there on every Tizen OS watches including Galaxy Watch 3. With the added function users can manage all the health-related features from it.
Furthermore, the company has given a cancel button to the automatic workout detection. As we know it is a very good function. As per our workouts, it gets activated and tracks them. Though it is a good feature, some users may want to cancel and go back to manual mode. Like when we are walking or running, it automatically detects and starts measuring it. In this case, if a user doesn’t want to track to save battery or other reason, they can close it by just tapping on the ‘X’ button.
Finally, the volume adjustment has been added to the quick panel. Users can add a volume control option from the settings of the quick panel. Also, Samsung has improved the accuracy of calorie measurements of cycling exercises. The firmware is available to install in the US & most of the European countries including the UK, Germany & Italy. Samsung Walkie Talkie App Launched for Galaxy Watch 4
Samsung has finally launched its official Walkie Talkie app for the new Galaxy smartwatches. Currently, the app supports on new Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic. Samsung was planning to introduce it while launching fourth-gen watches, though delayed it. With the app, you can communicate with your friends on different channels, and send them short voice messages. To communicate with another person first, you have to send them an invitation with the Invite button, and later, send them a voice message whenever you want.
The app will also let you join any public channels in the range. If you know any public channel, then you can send a message. If any person is on the same channel, then he might respond to you. The Samsung Walkie Talkie also brings all your friends together to chat on a special channel. To send the voice talk, just tap & hold the button on the main screen, and it will send to the other person. Also, in the group chat, you should ask permission to speak to avoid chaos.
Apple was the first company to bring the official Walkie Talkie app on its smartwatches. Later, we can see third-party apps on the Wear OS smartwatches. Also, third-party apps in the Galaxy Store for Galaxy Watch 3 & previous models. With the Galaxy Watch 4 & 4 Classic, Samsung has come with its own walkie-talkie for the users.
The Walkie Talkie is available to install in the Play Store for the new Wear OS-based smartwatches. It has been spotted in the home country of Samsung, which will soon be available in other countries.

Strava Ends Support for Wear OS 2.x Running Watches
Strava has today announced it will discontinue the support for Wear OS 2.X.X running watches. Further, the company said it will only work with newer Wear OS 3 running smartwatches. It has posted this official announcement on its blog, where it clearly mentions Wear OS 3 support. It is surprising that the most of the smartwatches running in the market are based on Wear OS 2 version. It includes most of the popular watches like Fossil Gen 5 series, Oppo Watch, Suunto 7, Ticwatch Pro 3, Ticwatch E3, and more that runs on previous OS update.
In the market, only Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic run on new Wear OS 3 software. As per the Google announcement, in the future Fossil Gen 6, Ticwatch Pro 3 & E3 will get the OS 3 in 2022. That means apart from Samsung’s new watches, not a single smartwatch is running on this version, nor a sign of it in next few months. Strava should have waited few more months or year before terminating the support, as most users are still new to their watches.
If you are using Wear OS 2.x.x based smartwatch, then soon you will get the notice of the termination from Strava. If you are using Galaxy Watch 4 duo, then you don’t have to worry, and you can download the official Strava app from Play Store. There is no notice yet for older Tizen OS watches, WatchOS, Garmin & Fitbit watches.

Soon You Can Use Internet Browser & Left Hand Mode on Galaxy Watch 4 Duo
The Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic are now available in major markets with positive responses. With the Wear OS 3 version, users can get plenty of new services, advanced heath features, and loads of new apps. Even recently, the watches received Spotify’s offline music service and the official YouTube Music app. Still, there is room for improvement on the fourth-gen watches. The Samsung Browser and the left-hand support, which were part of previous models are not available on the Watch 4 series.
That’s could change soon, as the Samsung team has promised to bring these essential features for the wearables. Samsung Browser was the only internet browser on the Tizen OS from the company. Maybe, there are not many people who use the internet on the wearable, but most of the users use it to surf the sites on the go. Of course, why not. That’s why Samsung has offered Wi-Fi & LTE services in the first place. The Play Store on Wear OS also has some good-rating or recommended browsers, though they are not comparable with Samsung’s Internet Browser.
The left-handed mode is the other function that will soon come to the new smartwatches. There is no answer to why the company hasn’t launched it in the first place. Now, after the user’s request, Samsung has decided to bring it back. It is good for those users who use another arm, and the left-hand mode gives them easy access. Also, users who want to switch to the other hand for some reason can do this seamlessly. We will inform you when both these functions come to the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

More Leaks Hint One UI 4 Beta Could Open in Mid-September
As September is around the corner, we are getting more evidence to soon receive Android 12-based One UI 4.0 Beta in mid-September. Today, we received more information that hints the beta opening will be sooner than we expect. As per the previous news, Samsung may open One UI 4.0 Beta for Galaxy S21 at the end of September. Now, the new information shared on the Samsung community by a user named Old Man says the beta will open in mid-September. Firstly, we also ignored it even when he mentioned he got this information from the insider.
Now, looks like the user named Old Man may be true, and Galaxy S21 will soon see a beta opening. To make it more solid, we have other news to share. The first is, Samsung is building a new beta firmware version for Galaxy S21 series. In South Korea, we have found build number G991NKSU3ZUHE for the S21 model. In the firmware, the Z letter clearly indicates the beta version which the company is preparing for next month.
One more piece of evidence was found at the Geekbench, where Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is listed. In the Geekbench score, Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G scored 1122 in Single-core and 3469 scores in multi-core on Android 12 version. It again indicates Samsung is testing Android 12 on these flagship models.
In the last, Samsung is also preparing its Good Lock modules for the next Android 12-based One UI 4 version. The first module to get the support is One Hand Operation+. The module has today get updated, and in the changelog, it mentions Android 12 support. It means, the company is also getting ready its apps and services for the next big update.
When the time approaches, the Beta Operation Manager will post the official banner and the launching date. The Galaxy S21 series is first in the line to join it, and later it will open for Galaxy S20 & Galaxy Note 20 series devices. Like the previous year, it could also open for foldable phones, and probably on high-end Galaxy A series smartphones.

Galaxy Buds Pro may Soon Get Noise Control Function
This week, Samsung has released a new feature called noise control function for the Galaxy Buds 2. The function contains two new features. First, the noise control function allows users to control the noise of just one earbud rather than both. The other features is to customize the listening to ambient sound. The users of Buds 2 can use it, when they get their hands on it. Previously, the option wasn’t there in the Galaxy Wearable app, and now the company has introduced it with the new buds. Now, as per the Buds Manager of Samsung at South Korea, the function will also come to the Galaxy Buds Pro soon.
Actually, it was the Buds Pro users who first demanded the function, but Samsung launched it with Buds 2. The Buds Manager said they had received various requests to launch the noise control function. It means after Galaxy Buds 2, the Buds Pro users can also use this function. Further, the Samsung manager mentioned the new feature is under review, and he will notify when it completes. Doble-tap edge of the earbuds is also the function which came later on Buds Pro from Buds+ earbuds.
With the Galaxy Buds 2, the company has also introduced activate hearing ambient sound during calls. There is no mentioning of the feature for the Galaxy Buds Pro. In the next firmware version, we will get a clear idea about which feature will come to the Buds Pro.

Galaxy S21 Lineup Now receiving One UI 3.1.1 Features
Samsung has introduced One UI 3.1.1 software version along with Galaxy Z Flip 3 & Z Fold 3 devices. It includes couple of new features and changes to the devices. Now, it is time to deliver this new software to the older Galaxy devices as the company promised. The flagship models Galaxy S21, S21+ & S21 Ultra are now getting One UI 3.1.1 features in their latest August update. Samsung has already mentioned the One UI version will remain the same, but only features will come to the older models.
In the new version, users can see improved UI, new bedtime mode, accidental touch protection, and a new weather app version. Further, the animations and pop-up menus load faster, and there is an enhanced camera app. Some users also pointed out the Galaxy S21 devices are not heating that much compared to the last version. In the US, T-Mobile users have also received new VoNR (Voice over New Radio) function. The changelog hasn’t mentioned any features or changes, so it will take some time to notice all the changes that happened in the new UI version.
The firmware version G99*WVLU4AUGQ is now rolling out in the US for T-Mobile & Canada, which will soon dispatch in the other regions. The file size is 1082MB in size, and it brings Android’s August security patch. The Galaxy S20 & Note 20 series will soon receive the firmware version in the coming days. Samsung is preparing for One UI 4.0 beta for Galaxy S21 for Mid-September, where the users will taste another major UI features. Spotify Offline Playback Feature Rolls Out for Wear OS Including Galaxy Watch 4
As promised by Spotify, the offline playback feature is now rolling out for Wear OS smartwatches. In the Google I/O event and later in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 event, we got the hint to get the feature soon. Early than expected, the company has dispatched a needy function to the listening users. It will let you download any playlists or podcasts on their smartwatch and directly listen to the song via Bluetooth headsets or earbuds. It will allow you to leave behind your phone while jogging or in an outdoor workout.
The Spotify Offline Playback feature is available for Premium as well as free users but with restrictions. The free users can also use it, but they can only download Podcasts. To download music playlists & songs users need to upgrade to the Spotify Premium subscription. The process is simple. Download the Spotify app from Play Store, and choose the songs or albums you want to get offline. Finally, tap on the Download button, and it will be saved on your watch to listen to in the future.

As we checked on various forums, Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, TicWatch Pro 3 & Oppo Watch are currently receiving the app update. Galaxy Buds 2 Receives New Features in First Update
The Galaxy Buds 2 is Samsung’s latest earbuds with advanced features but in the budget price segment. The company launched it along with other flagship Galaxy smartphones and watches. Without any delay, Samsung put it on sale, and now, it is available in the major countries. Now, Samsung took one step further and released the first major update for the new Galaxy Buds 2. The latest firmware will bring some of the essential functions for the earbuds, which were missed while launching. After the installation, the users can now activate Ambient Sound during calls.
In the Active Noise Cancelling function, Samsung has added two new options. Users can control the noise of only one earbud instead of both. On the Galaxy Buds Pro, there wasn’t this option, but the new earbuds have received it. Further in ANC, users can customize the listening of Ambient mode. The Lab section has also received a new option. It allows users to double-tap the edge of earbuds. The function was first introduced on Galaxy Buds+ and later brought to Buds Pro. Now, the company has decided to launch it on the Buds 2, even when the size of the earbud is small.
Finally, the company has squashed minor bugs to enhance the overall quality and provide more stability. The firmware version R177XXU0AUH2 is now rolling out for Galaxy Buds 2. The update is rolling out in South Korea, and it is 2.97MB in size. In a matter of time, it may reach the customers who have purchased the new earbuds.

Older Galaxy Devices may not Get One UI 3.1.1 Update
Samsung has introduced One UI 3.1.1 version at the launching of Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Z Flip 3 devices. Now, the users of Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20 & Note 20 are eagerly waiting for this version on their devices. Well, that may not going to happen after all. Samsung customer executive has today confirmed that the One UI 3.1.1 software version has only built for foldable phones. And company doesn’t have any plan to bring it to the older models. As per the previous report, One UI 3.1.1 was supposed to launch on Galaxy S21 at the end of this month.
The company executive further said he has confirmed it from the relevant department and got this answer. The new features and some app improvements will come to the older devices, but the version will stays to One UI 3.1 only. This decision could be taken by Samsung because it is preparing for One UI 4.0 Beta version. The company representative has already hinted beta version for Galaxy S21 series will open from next month. And Galaxy S20 & Galaxy Note 20 lineup will also join the beta testing.

Samsung Dex will Get SoundAssistant Support in One UI 4.0
We all know that Samsung is preparing for the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 version later this year. The official team member has also hinted at the beta rollout date, and that could happen in September. All the features from Samsung for the One UI 4.0 update are still in the mystery box, but I think I just got a small piece of it. Mi Smart Band 6 Gets Flashlight Feature in V1.0.4.38 Version
After a long time, Xiaomi has released the latest version for Mi Smart Band 6 with a new function. The smart band has received firmware version V1.0.4.38 with an added flashlight feature. Samsung Pay Shuts Down in Mexico, Welcomes Members Wallet
Samsung has finally discontinued its well-known Samsung Pay service in Mexico. The users were getting shut down messages since March this year. And now the company has killed its online payment service in the country. After August 1st, the users in Mexico can’t use the service to make transactions using the NFC function. It is not clear why Samsung took this decision nor did we find any proper notes on the official website. Like other countries, Samsung Pay has a good amount of users in the country.
Here is the official statement from Samsung about the termination of Samsung Pay in Mexico.
Dear users at Samsung, we thank you for your preference and use of Samsung Pay. We want to inform you that due to various circumstances we find it necessary to terminate the service and its functionalities as of August 1, 2021. The service will remain active and you will be able to continue making payments or registering cards from affiliated banks until 12:59 PM on July 31, 2021. The application will be automatically deleted from your registered devices in accordance with a privacy notice and the terms and conditions of service published at Samsung.com/mx/samsungpay.
It means not the end for Samsung to bring these services to Mexico. In the new partnership, Samsung has launched a new Members Wallet app in Galaxy Store. The service will allow users to make payments and get Samsung Debit Cards. It has a partnership with Santander bank & Mastercard in the country to provide Debit cards to make secure payments. The Members Wallet app is now in Beta mode, and users can send a request to join it. Once users get accepted, then they will get digital Samsung Debit card to make transactions.
To promote Members Wallet, Samsung is offering 30% off on Samsung Care+ & a 5% permanent discount on the Samsung Experience store and Samsung Mexico website. It will also give early access to the users to purchase products throughout the year. You can download the official Members Wallet Beta app from Galaxy Store in Mexico.

One UI 4.0 Beta for Galaxy S21 will Start From September
Today, official Beta Operation Manager at South Korea accidentally posted banner for Beta testing for One UI 4.0 version. Later, the manager deleted the poster from the account, which creates lots of confusion in between users. It could be mistake made by Beta Operation Manager and he posted it online. The poster claimed that One UI 4.0 beta or Android 12 beta for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ & Galaxy S21 Ultra will start soon. The banner has taken down after few minutes for some reason, but the message was spread everywhere.
Now to make it clear, the official team member has answered to users about actual release date for beta testing. As per the official team, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ & Galaxy S21 Ultra will get One UI 4.0 beta version in September & October. And the previous Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ & Galaxy S20 Ultra will start to getting in October. That means, the beta version for Galaxy S21 could start in the last week of September in South Korea , and it will reach to other major countries in early October.

Good Lock Modules Updated to Support Galaxy Fold 3, Flip 3 & One UI 3.1.1 Version
The launching date for Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Galaxy Z Flip 3 is coming near. Samsung will unveil both foldable phones on August 11 with Galaxy Watch 4 range and Galaxy Buds 2. The next Galaxy Z series foldable devices will run on the latest One UI 3.1.1 version. Yesterday, the official moderator confirmed the latest version, and now Samsung has updated Good Lock modules to support the next Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Some of the features of Good Lock modules will exclusively support Galaxy Z fold 3 & Flip 3. Also, some functions will support other Galaxy devices once they are updated to the One UI 3.1.1 version. The NavStar, MultiStar, Theme Park & Nice Catch has been updated with new functions to support the next devices with the newest One UI version. In the Nice Catch module, Samsung has added a new exclusive feature for foldable phones. Users can now see the new Media volume muted history function on Fold 3 & Flip 3.
The Theme Park on Fold 3 & Flip 3 can now import the downloaded icon packs. It is now also easy to change an app icon shape and create new icon packs. Apart from that, the other supported devices will receive improvement of the visibility of generated themes and enhancement in UI.
With the MultiStar, Samsung has provided some fixes to foldable phones. It has fixed the linked menu of some functions in Z Fold 3 & Flip 3. Furthermore, it has fixed the wrong value return from the ‘all apps’ in-app picker list.
Finally, the NavStar module gets a new Show task stack feature in the One UI 3.1.1 version. The feature will support Fold 3 & supported tablets. The function will let users quickly switch apps in the navigation bar. In the screenshots, Samsung has also revealed the first look of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 device.
You can now update all these Good Lock modules on your smartphones, but you have to wait for One UI 3.1.1 firmware to use some of them.
