    Galaxy A50 August Update Improves Battery Charging Algorithm, Added Snapchat

    Samsung is now seeding the latest August security patch update on the Galaxy A50 smartphone. The new software is here to improve the overall quality of the device and the Snapchat app has been installed. The firmware A505FDDU2ASH3 is rolling out in India that weighs 320MB in size. The latest software improves the battery charging algorithm by providing stability as well as enhances the performance of the Fingerprint scanner. It also takes care of the security of the device with Google’s August security patch.

    The most surprising change is, Samsung installed Snapchat app on the Galaxy A50. At this moment, we are not sure how this app will be different than the Play Store version, we will tell you when we review it. In the last few updates, Samsung is installing many third-party apps on its various range of devices.

    Recently, Galaxy A70 received Helo app in July update and before that many Galaxy, A series smartphones have got ShareChat, MobiKwik, Likee & Big Basket apps. Samsung never has done it before but it looks like the company wants to partner with some app developers to give additional benefits to customers.

    The update is currently serving in India over the air so in the coming hours, it will reach everyone in the country. If you want to check it manually, then go to Settings and hit a Software update. In the last updates, Galaxy A50 has received major features, including Night Mode & QR scanner. This update is all mean to improve the overall quality of the device.

    The smartwatch sector is constantly growing with setting new records every year. The latest report from Strategy Analytics mentions the trend and reports that 12.3 million smartwatches were shipped in the second quarter of 2019. As compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the current year recorded a 44% year on year growth rate. In the Q2 of 2018, all the companies cumulatively shipped 8.3 million smartwatches against the 12.3 million of the Q2 2019. The report reveals the growing potential of the wearables section and indicates the growth scale in the upcoming time.

    The Apple Watch dominates the global shipments of the smartwatches and shipped 46% of the 12.3 million. It is obvious that last year’s Apple Watch Series 4 is the biggest factor in increasing shipments of the company and to bring it to the top position.

    Further, Samsung also recorded a significant improvement in the smartwatch segment. The company doubled its shipments compared in the same period of 2018. Korean tech giant’s Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active helped the company to beat the Fitbit and grab the second position. In September, Galaxy Watch Active 2 with Under Armour edition will be launching in the market that may help the company to do even better.

    Samsung records the 15.9% market share against the 9.8% of Fitbit and occupy the second position. This trend indicates improving sales of the company and it’s holding over the smartwatch market. However, the latest Galaxy Watch Active 2 may enable the company to solidify its position and compete against Apple to capture the market.

    According to the report of Strategy Analytics, currently, Samsung is the world’s second-leading smartwatch vendor as well as can further improve its fortune with the latest products packed with several impressive features.

    Also, the report mentions the gloomy picture for the Fitbit, as the company saw a drop in its market share. This year the company managed to sell 9.8% of the global shipments against 15.8% of the previous year. Fitbit lost the second position due to less than the expected sale of the company’s Versa Lite Edition smartwatch.

    However, with Fitbit Versa 2, the company can expect to improve its sell and solidify the market. The latest report gives a clear picture of the performance of the manufacturers as well as the trend in the smartwatch market space.

    Samsung expects the launch of its foldable flagship, Galaxy Fold in September. Originally the device was scheduled to launch on 26th April, but the screen breaking issues compelled the company to postpone its release. After that company focused on comprehensive improvement of the Galaxy Fold and improve the overall user experience. Due to this unexpected delay Best Buy and AT&T canceled all the pre-orders and refunded the money to customers.

    The September launch of the Galaxy Fold can lead to the competition with Huawei Mate X as it is also expected to launch in the same month.

    Company has made extensive evaluation and all the required improvements to the product in meantime. However, if launched as scheduled earlier, the Galaxy Fold would be the first foldable smartphone by major manufacturers.

    The issue of screen cracking was occurred due to peeling off the layer of plastic film on the phone’s internal display by reviewers. This happened because reviewers failed to understand the warning of not to peel off the layer and this lead to the crack in the display.

    Galaxy FoldIn other cases bulge occurred on the internal screen of the device because some debris entered the phone’s top hinge. Now Samsung has solved all these issues and improved the device with an extended protective layer to cover bezels.

    In order to prevent the debris from entering the device, protection caps have added on top as well the bottom side of the hinge. Also, the metal layers below the Infinity Flex Display have been included to reinforce the protection of the display.

    Further, the company has reduced the space between the body and the hinge of the device. Samsung is also working to optimize the more apps for the Galaxy Fold’s User Interface.

    As the company expects the launching of the Galaxy Fold in select markets in September, the more details will available close to the launching date. Customers have to wait until September to get this amazing and improved foldable smartphone.

    Samsung Galaxy M20 Launched in South Korea

    The Galaxy M20 is Samsung’s one of the low-end lineup smartphone which firstly launched in India. Now Samsung has launched this smartphone in South Korea to target the budget customers. The decision will help the company to expand its market for Galaxy M20 as well as tap the potential of the Korean market for low-end smartphones.

    At present in pre-sale, the smartphone is available to purchase from online store Musha, the Aliexpress site in Korea. On Musha, it goes on sale for $186 for 3GB/32GB version & $215 for 64GB. It is available in Black & Blue color option though at the moment a 64GB version of the Blue color is not on sale.

    The device will go on sale from 15th July via Samsung’s online mall and other e-commerce platforms such as Gmarket and Auction. Galaxy M20 will sell for 22,000 won, and it is available in black charcoal color option, soon Blue version will join.

    Galaxy M20 features 6.3 inches droop notch display with high-resolution support of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and can upgrade to the latest Android 9.0 Pie, and Exynos 7904 Octa-core processor powers it. It features 13MP and 5MP primary camera setup and 8MP selfie camera. A non-removable Li-Po 5000mAh battery fuels the device with a fast charging support of 15W.

    To celebrate the pre-sell of the device, Samsung and Musha will also sell a unique package. It created in collaboration with several fashion brands like Viva Studio, Kinshi, Cricity, and Mark Gonzalez. Galaxy M lineup is the result of Samsung’s efforts to beat the competition from the rivals in the low-end and mid-range smartphone segment.
